ClientIDManagerStartup.log Error RegTask: Failed to get certificate. Error: 0x80004005

Issue: Some clients may not show as being installed when viewed through the System Center Configuration Manager 2012 admin console.
From the target computers themselves the agents appear to function properly.
When viewing the ClientIDManagerStartup.log file you may also see the following error:

RegTask: Failed to get certificate. Error: 0x80004005

Cause: This is caused by an issue with the RSA machine keys on the client.

Resolution: To resolve this issue complete the following steps:

Backup all files in the C:\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys folder Delete(or the corresponding folder on your specific clients).
Restart the SMS Agent Host Service to recreate these certificates.
At this point the clients should start showing up in the console.  If not, remove and push the client agent to the affected computers again.
========

I hope you don’t get this issue yourself but if you do then at least know you’ll know how to fix it.

SSRS Reports error in XML document (1, 43464). ' ', hexadecimal value 0x1F, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 43464.

Some Times when we mistake use the Collection and Query use IF Condition it will effet some more SSRS reports  when we get Below Error :-

The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version.
There is an error in XML document (1, 43464).
' ', hexadecimal value 0x1F, is an invalid character. Line 1, position 43464.

I used the following SQL query to search through the parameters to find which one(s) contain the 1F hex value

SELECT Name
FROM v_Collection
WHERE CONVERT(varchar(max),convert(varbinary(max),convert(nvarchar(max),Name)),2) LIKE ‘%1F%’
Here is what we got:

ConfigMgr 2012 R2 Support Tip: WSUS sync fails with HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable

ConfigMgr 2012 R2 Support Tip: WSUS sync fails with HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable

Here in product support we’ve seen a recent uptick in issues related to WSUS/ConfigMgr sync problems after the last Patch Tuesday, so I wanted to take a minute to mention the issue here, as well as how you can resolve it in case you happen to see it.
The typical scenario is that a customer is running System Center 2012 Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr 2012 or ConfigMgr 2012 R2) and is unable to synchronize their Software Update Point with their WSUS server. A review of the component status messages for the SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER component on the primary site server reveals errors related to WSUS synchronization which are similar to the following:
Message ID: 6703
WSUS Synchronization failed.
Message: The request failed with HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable.
Source: Microsoft.UpdateServices.Administration.AdminProxy.CreateUpdateServer.
When you attempt to open Update Services on the WSUS server you receive the following error:
Error: Connection Error
An error occurred trying to connect to the WSUS server. This error can happen for a number of reasons. Please contact your network administrator if the problem persists. Click the Reset Server Node to connect to the server again.
In addition to the above, attempts to access the URL for the WSUS Administration website (i.e., http://XXXXXX:8530) fails with the error:
HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable
In this situation, the most likely cause is that the WsusPool Application Pool in IIS is in a stopped state, as shown below.

Also, the Private Memory Limit (KB) for the Application Pool is probably set to the default value of 1843200 KB.
image

If you encounter this problem, increase the Private Memory Limit to 4GB (4000000 KB) and restart the Application Pool. To increase the Private Memory Limit, select the WsusPool Application Pool and click Advanced Settings under Edit Application Pool. Then set the Private Memory Limit to 4GB (4000000 KB).

After the Application Pool has been restarted, monitor the SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER component status, wcm.log and wsyncmgr.log for failures. Please note that it may be necessary to increase the Private Memory Limit to 8GB (8000000 KB) or higher depending on the environment.

More Information

When encountering this issue, the WCM.log from the primary site server will contain numerous entries similar to the following:

Windows Update Agent Versions – Locating and Fixing your problem clients in a Configuration Manager Environment

Windows Update Agent Versions – Locating and Fixing your problem clients in a Configuration Manager Environment

The number one reason for update installation failures from Microsoft is because your computers are running an out of date WUA (Windows Update Agent) or its not configured correctly. So how can this occur when we have Config Manager managing our updates and deploying them? Well its because WSUS handles the updating of the WUA agent and its components, not Config Manager. Incorrect Group Policy settings can also cause problems.

A client running the internal SelfUpdate process
There are a number of blogs out there discussing how to correctly implement WSUS, Config Manager and Group Policy, in fact Jason Sandys presented on this at MMS this year (2013). This gives a great overview of how to implement Software Updates ensuring that your WUA updates itself also.
When I upgraded to Config Manager 2012 I experienced quite a few clients that had out of date WUA’s. I was completely oblivious to this, however I identified the issue when decommissioning my old Config Manager 2007 instance. I could see in the IIS logs that I had computers still trying to contact my old WSUS server to do a WUA version check even though these computers had the new 2012 Config Manager agent running on them. This indicated that a number of computers had issues with their settings relating to how they were contacting the new WSUS server. I knew that my Group Policy settings, WSUS and Config Manager Software Updates implementation were correct as the vast majority of my clients were updating and communicating correctly.
So how do we put some checks in place so we can identify those computers with out of date WUA versions and re-mediate them? Well, I have done the following, maybe you will find the following information useful.
According to Microsoft you can use this SQL query:
however you can’t run this from within the Config Manager Console, you get an error about the view being unavailable.
2013-08-19_095949
A work around for this is to use the following query which I obtained from a Technet discussion (credit to Jason Sandy’s and those who responded on this page). Go to Monitoring tab within your Configuration Manager Console and create a new query with the following syntax:
select rsys.Name, wua.Version from  SMS_R_System as rsys full join SMS_G_System_WINDOWSUPDATEAGENTVERSION as wua on wua.ResourceId = rsys.ResourceId
This will give you a view with results similar to the following:
2013-08-19_101344
When I initially ran this in my environment I then noticed a number of computers with out of date agents or no agent version at all even though they had the new 2012 client installed. This can mean that the Config Manager client has yet to run an inventory and upload the information, however in my case I could see that the inventory actions were running and had uploaded data. Subsequently I checked the WUAHandler.log on the problem computers and ran across two distinct issues.
Issue 1.
On some of the computers I could see that the WUAHAndler.log indicated that it was still pointed to the old WSUS server that no longer existed. I was seeing the following error in the WUAHandler.log
*******************************************************************************
Its a WSUS Update Source type ({63897A13-E330-463A-B09E-101151D25935}), adding it.
Enabling WUA Managed server policy to use server: :8530″>:8530″>http:// :8530
Waiting for 2 mins for Group Policy to notify of WUA policy change…
Group policy settings were overwritten by a higher authority (Domain Controller) to: Server “>”>http:// and Policy ENABLED
Failed to Add Update Source for WUAgent of type (2) and id ({63897A13-E330-463A-B09E-101151D25935}). Error = 0x80040692.
*******************************************************************************
For these instances I browsed to the c:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine folder on the computer and manually removed the Registry.pol file. This file was then re-created by doing a gpupdate /force on the computer. Following this action, the WSUS server reference in the WUAHandler.log was corrected and the computer then started to communicate with the new WSUS server. So it would seem that this file was corrupted and was not being replaced by my updated Group Policy.
Note: This can also be caused by incorrect Group Policy settings which override any local WSUS server policy that the Configuration Manager client attempts to set so bare this in mind when troubleshooting this error.
2013-08-19_111944
Issue 2.
On the remaining computers I was seeing a search related error in the WUAHandler.log, subsequently inspecting theWindowsUpdate.log indicated an issue with the client being able to contact the new WSUS server:
2013-08-19_105452
2013-08-19_105508
For these computers the problem lied with the machine proxy setting. This was shown when running netsh winhttp show proxy. This setting had been configured but then not removed as part of another internal process within our domain. To correct the communication problem I ran the following from an elevated command prompt then restarted the computer:
2013-08-19_113028
Allowing for inventory to be run on the re-mediated clients, the WUA version information then appeared in the SQL Query that I had configured in my environment. Checking the WindowsUpdate.log on those computers also indicated that the self update process was working.
I hope these two issues and their associated resolutions help you with your WUA version compliance when running Software Updates with Configuration Manager 2012!

ClientIDManagerstartup.log Error: 0x80071771

ISSUE
I had to uninstall and reinstall the SCCM client on a server and it will not register with the management point. The ClientIDManagerStartup.log just has this error over and over:
GetRegistrationState failed (0x80071771)
RegTask: Failed to get registration state. Error: 0x80071771
I can't find anything on the Internet about error 0x80071771 except that it means a file could not be decrypted.
The MP_RegistrationManager.log and the MP_CliReg logs on the site server show no errors at all.

Resolution
Please try Below Step.
1-Uninstall/reinstall the sccm client
2-Stop the SMS Agent Host service
3-Delete any devices in the SCCM console that have the same name as the offending machine
4-On the computer that won't register, delete C:\Windows\SMSCFG.INI
5-Start the SMS Agent Host service

6- Excluding Antivirus SMSCFG.INI file and SMS Agent Host Service
